Ian Piper has run Tellura, a UK-based taxonomy and semantic web consultancy, since 2004. Prior to this he worked in publishing, life sciences, financial services and the public sector.

Tellura specialises in taxonomy design, creation and management services, designing and building semantic information models, and particularly in helping organisations to implement effective taxonomy governance practices. We work with banks, life science businesses, engineering, publishing companies and many others.
