Heather Kotula is Access Innovations’ Vice President of Marketing and Communications, directing activities including trade shows, conferences, online and social media presence, and corporate identity maintenance. She coordinates the annual Data Harmony Users Group (DHUG) meetings. She has worked on taxonomies for Access Innovations since 1987 and given workshops and presentations about their construction and use. She created taxonomy related games to enhance the workshop experience. She was instrumental in the publication of Marjorie Hlava’s The TaxoBook, acting as editor. She is active in the Special Libraries Association, serving as a Director of the Board, past chair of the Taxonomy division, past president of the Route 66 Community, a Fellow, and as liaison to 8 communities. She also serves on the Marketing Committee of the Society for Scholarly Publishing.
