Yonah never anticipated that when she answered an ad in college to typeset for the student newspaper that it would launch her career in metadata, standards and markup. She has been instrumental in implementing change wherever she works. At HBO, she is focusing on Taxonomy Data Governance, leading efforts to extend terminology consistency while adhering to industry standards.
Previously Yonah was at Pearson Education, where she developed and implemented global metadata standards, working side by side with data architects, markup and workflow specialists, and content creators to come up with flexible solutions to meet today’s educational needs. She was active with multiple BISG committees and also contributed to the IDPF's EDUPub markup standard, and also was a key contributor to Pearson’s rights metadata standard and system implementation efforts.
She continues to draw on her data conversion experiences garnered at Data Conversion Laboratories, and her markup and training efforts at HarperCollins Publishers. Yonah managed large scale data conversions of legal looseleaf publishing into the digital world using SGML and XML for Thomson/RIA. Prior to that, she was Senior Field Applications Specialist at XyEnterprise where she brought publishing technology changes to companies ranging from the American Kennel Club to AAA, and IEEE. She received her Masters in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University.
She is the co-director and co-founder of Rutgers' online DAM certificate program which launched in Sept. 2019.
